Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) is a healing aid that rebalances the body’s meridian energy by realigning and resolving emotional and physical issues. It’s used a blend of ancient Chinese accupressure and modern psychology.
We have positive and negative emotional responses to our external experiences. These emotions can imprint on our energy systems. This then allows us to establish thoughts, moods and behaviours. We access these learned behaviours when we have similar external experiences.
Great for positive emotional experiences! The problem occurs with negative emotions. Negative emotions can contribute to poor physical and psychological health.
How does EFT help?
The meridian points utilised in EFT are a series of acupressure points that are highly concentrated free nerve endings and mechanoreceptors. This means that they respond really well to mechanical stimuli such as touch.
Tapping on these points sends an electrical signal that travels through the nervous system into the limbic system deep in the brain. (Limbic system is primarily responsible for our emotional life, with functions of emotion, behaviour, motivation, long-term memory and sense of smell.
The EFT tapping protocol disrupts established negative thought processes in the limbic system. It aims to neutralise the emotions to the imprint, making it a now non-threatening experience.
As a practitioner, I work to promote self healing of conditions by targeting the imbalances that exist with the body’s energy meridian system. This is done by using a series of tapping sequences coupled with verbal affirmation.
